Climate change presents a complex problem that will affect human and animal populations and the earth’s ecosystems in predictable and unpredictable ways. To address climate change effectively, we need highly skilled professionals who can work across disciplines using the One Health approach. Our team is leading a project aimed at developing, measuring, and assessing One Health core competencies in higher education to ensure that graduates can actively contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation. We will share an overview of our work to date including highlights from stakeholder engagement and knowledge synthesis and opportunities and challenges encountered throughout the process.
