Towards Gender-Responsive Health Systems for Universal Health Coverage: health for women and for all

  • Webinar

Gender equality is critical for universal health coverage (UHC). UHC in turn empowers women and girls, strengthening gender equality, economies, and contributing to healthy, peaceful, and inclusive societies. UHC has the potential to transform the health and lives of billions of people but only if it extends its reach to all. So how do we ensure that UHC is truly universal? How do we guarantee it is inclusive of women, girls, and other marginalized groups? What steps can we take to make sure nobody is left behind? UHC2030, the Alliance for Gender Equality and UHC, the Partnership for Maternal Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH); with support from Women in Global Health (WGH) as a co-convenor of the Alliance for Gender Equality and UHC, are jointly calling for countries to take a gender-responsive approach to achieve UHC. Join us for a virtual CSW68 side event as we discuss ways to enhance understanding on the importance of gender-responsive health systems. This event will be a space for stakeholder dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and strengthening collaboration towards gender-responsive health systems for UHC.
