Synopsis:

This webinar presents findings from the upcoming 2021 Canadian Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (CARSS) Report, to be released on April 25, 2022. The 2021 CARSS Report summarizes national data on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and provides recent information on the amount of antimicrobials used in humans and animals, as antimicrobial use (AMU) is one of the key drivers of AMR.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

• Describe Canada’s system for surveillance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antimicrobial use (AMU) for human and animal health

• Understand the latest trends and priorities identified in national AMR and AMU surveillance findings from PHAC, and

• Identify remaining surveillance gaps and discuss potential solutions

This webinar will be delivered in English with simultaneous interpretation available in French. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session where questions can be asked in French or English.
