All for one and one for all: how patient safety starts with healthcare workers

  • 27 Jan 2022
  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
  • Webinar

Our most pressing challenges in healthcare require focused, constructive discussions. Sharing openly and listening to diverse perspectives and experiences. At Healthcare Excellence Canada, we’ve developed the Spotlight Series to do just that.

It’s about connecting people to have conversations with a purpose. Responding quickly to current issues by featuring strategies for improvement that are transferable. We’ll explore solutions to make improvements last, as we work together to shape the future of quality and safety in healthcare across the country.

All for one and one for all: how patient safety starts with healthcare workers

Jan 27, 2022 12:00PM - 1:00 PM (ET)

With Jennifer Zelmer, President and CEO, Healthcare Excellence Canada, Dr. Michael Gardam, CEO, Health PEI, Danielle Bellamy, Director of Continuing Care – SE (Network 3, 4 & 5), Yorkton & District Nursing Home (Saskatchewan Health Authority), Alice Watt, Senior Medication Safety Specialist, Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada (ISMP Canada) and Hospital Pharmacist, and Wendy Nicklin, Member, Patients for Patient Safety Canada.

The pandemic has made clear that safer care for all starts with the ones in the centre of healthcare: patients and their providers. Leaders also play a key role in creating a safe environment, especially as healthcare workers face record levels of stress and burnout in the workplace. In order to continue moving through the phases of the pandemic, we need to draw on the experiences of healthcare workers to understand and create safer healthcare.

In this webinar we’ll deep-dive into the experiences and perspectives of the panelists, by asking: How can we improve provider safety, and thus patient safety, to build future resilience? Join the discussion to hear from them.
